Taking Ownership of my Choices & Actions Today

Owning Being Present in the Moment

I observed myself this beautiful Saturday morning setting my intention for the day, drinking my first drink of the day - fresh lemon juice and water, checking out the news online, commenting on a dear friend's email and so on. I questioned myself. Had I taken ownership of those choices and their resulting actions?

I decided to inventory my choices and their following actions.

I took ownership of my choice to get up for the day Yes

I took ownership of opening the blinds and greeting the day No

I took ownership when I took my morning medications No

I took ownership when I let the cat in and fed her No

I took ownership when I opened my laptop No

I took ownership when I checked email No

I took ownership when I responded to my friends email No

I took ownership as I read the online news headlines No

I took ownership when I set my intention for the day No

I took ownership when I gave a neighborhood cat some crunchies Yes

You get the picture. The above items and others as I looked back on the 2 1/2 hours I had been up so far was a most powerful eye opener for me.

I'm big on the power of self-forgiveness. So, I forgave myself for not taking full ownership of my choices and actions thus far. After I did that, I felt more relaxed and open. Being unaware of being able to do this, I also forgave myself for all the times in my life, when I didn't take ownership of my choices and their resultant actions.(Physics tells us there is no future or past, only the present moment).

It was time to reset my intention for today. "I joyfully take full ownership of my choices and actions." After claiming that as my day's intention I felt the day will unfold in a most beautiful and amazing way.

I took full ownership of choosing to share my experience by writing this blog and posting it!
